FAKE NOSE              I kept hearing a phrase over and over and over again until the words themselves started to become meaningless and then even the sound of the words started to blur and morph and become something totally different than what they were originally meant to be. That's when this cartoon came to me.

       I don't listen to the State of the Union address last night. I didn't listen to Reagan's speeches either. Or the Bushes.       Once you get an idea who they are you don't have to listen to them promoting themselves. Life is too short. I did this drawing during the 2016 Presidential Campaign. 

'ALTERNATIVE  FACTS'      'Alternative Facts' is a fairly new expression, coined by Trump aide Kellyanne Conway on January 23, 2017 to defend Press Secretary's Sean Spicer's description of the crowd size at the Presidential Inauguration in Washington. (“This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration — period — both in person and around the globe.”) Although the expression is new, the idea behind it is not, which I realized as I was putting together the collection of cartoons which is published under that title. I began to see that each of the cartoons that I chose for the collection was my own interpretation of events that I had witnessed or ideas that I considered - my own 'alternative facts.'      This collection is not strictly concerned with the current 'alternative facts' era either, although a few of the cartoons are directly inspired by Trump.
